Hyderabad: Terming the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee on Telangana as “Gang of Thieves”, the Congress MLC, Mr Yadava Reddy, on Thursday said that the identity of the leader of the gang of thieves would come to light soon..
Speaking at the Assembly Media Point, Mr Yadava Reddy said that Justice Srikrishna Committee members should go to the Telangana people along with the content of eighth chapter of their report. The people of the region would teach them a fitting lesson. It was very unfortunate that the Committee suggesting counseling to the elected representatives who were agitating for Telanagana statehood and ‘media management’ to influence the minds of the people, he added.
“What was the necessity for the government to resort to a back-door policy like appointing Justice Srikrishna Committee in the matter of Telangana Statehood? The Telangana people were getting ready for final agitation for separate Telangana”, he added. He also demanded an inquiry by a Supreme Court sitting judge into the entire episode of constitution of Justice Sri Krishna Committee and its report.
The Congress MLA from Telangana region, Mr Gandra Venkataramana Reddy, said that the contents of the Eighth chapter of Justice Srikrishna Committee would increase doubts in the minds of the people over the sanctity of the Committee. The eighth chapter should be made public immediately and there was need for wide debate on it, he opined. The Committee report was prepared at the behest of Seemandhra capitalists, he added. (NSS)
