New Delhi: The AICC general secretary in charge of AP affairs, Mr Veerappa Moily, has warned the Congress MPs from Telangana that the party was taking serious note of their action of disrupting the proceedings of Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
Perturbed by the Congress members joining MPs of the Opposition parties in causing adjournment of the Lok Sabha proceedings twice, the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, has called Mr Moily and reportedly instructed him to counsel the Telangana MPs.
Mr Moily had a meeting with the party MPs later and is believed to have told them that the party would not take it lightly if they stall the proceedings of the House like other members. He told them that such action would send wrong signals to the people.
Talking to the media later, Mr Moily said that there were differences in the opinion of members on the Telangana issue. He said that the Union government and the Congress party were determined to solve the problem amicably. He said the government was trying to arrive at a solution that was acceptable to all. He has also appealed to other parties to cooperate with the government in resolving the issue. (NSS)
