Hyderabad: The Meteorology Department on Monday said that the Southwest monsoon has been active over Telangana, leading to rain occurring at many places over the region and at a few places over Rayalaseema.
Isolated rain occurred over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, the Met Office said.
Due to the influence of the Southwest monsoon, Navipet and Bodhan in Nizamabad district recorded very heavy rainfall of 15 and 13 centimetre respectively.
Besides, heavy rainfall lashed Mancherial in Adilabad district which received 9 CM, Madnoor in Nizamabad district with 8 CM and Khanapur in Adilabad district with 7 CM.
Besides these areas, Mudhol and Nirmal, both in Adilabad district received 6 CM of rains each, Armoor in Nizamabad district, Asifabad in Adilabad district, Makthal in Mahabubnagar district and Metpalli in Karimnagar district received 5 CM of rains each.
The Met Office also predicted that moderate to rather heavy rain or thundershowers would occur at many places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the next 48 hours and light to moderate rain or thundershowers would occur at a few places over Rayalaseema.
The Met Office also warned that isolated heavy rain would occur in the districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam of Telangana and in the districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari and West Godavari of Coastal Andhra Pradesh during next 48 hours.
Hyderabad and its neighbourhood would experience no large change from the generally cloudy conditions of the past few days.
Rain or thundershowers would occur in parts of city and the Maximum and Minimum temperatures would be around 32 and 21 degrees Celsius respectively, the Met Office said. (INN)
