Alleging that TRS supremo and Mahbubnagar MP Kalwakuntla Chandrasekhara Rao has been cheating the people of the Telangana region, TDP senior leader Mothkupalli Narsimhulu went on hunger strike at the Gun Park opposite Assembly on Sunday. However, a few minutes later, the city police rushed to the spot and took him into custody and whisked him away to the Nampally Police Station on the charge that the TDP leader violated prohibitory orders in force. With this, the TDP workers had heated arguments with the police officials.
Paying homage to the Telangana martyrs at the Gun Park earlier, Mothukupalli lambasted the TRS supremo saying that he was taking the people of the region for a ride in the name of Telangana. He asked whether separate Telangana would be conceded by raising the issue in Parliament or talking about it in a public meeting in Suryapet. He also accused KCR of holding public meetings in the region only for the sake of votes and seats.
Asking why the TRS leader was not demanding all-party meeting on the issue if he was sincere, Mothkupalli reminded that his party supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu has been repeatedly demanding for an all-party meeting to thrash out the Telangana issue. He said that if KCR was sincere on Telangana issue, he should also press the Centre to call for all-party meeting. Making it clear that he was observing hunger strike in protest against the style of functioning of the TRS leader, Mothkupalli demanded that “KCR should be hanged to death” like the Pakistani terrorist Kasab.
Alleging that Telangana Rashtra Samiti was not formed for the sake of separate Telangana State, the TDP leader said that KCR was organizing the “Suryapet Samarabheri” purely for political gains. (NSS)
