Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Sunday said they were not contacted by the Mumbai police about one of the suspects in crime journalist Jyotirmoy Dey’s murder.
On Saturday evening, an anonymous caller informed the Mumbai police control room police claiming that J Dey was killed by Indian Mujahideen (IM) member Mohammed Rafi and other shooters from Hyderabad, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir. Police traced the caller’s number to Yemen.
However, Hyderabad police commissioner AK Khan said they have not been contacted or informed about any such development by the Mumbai police.
State intelligence sleuths have also confirmed that so far there was no Hyderabadi link to the scribe’s murder. TOI
