Hyderabad: Confirming the roumers of growing distance between him and TDP chief Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, TDP senior leader Dr. Nagam Janardhana Reddy has abstained from the politburo meeting called by the latter.

Dr. Nagam has been a staunch supporter of Telangana, and has started the Telangana TDP Legislators Forum, and the move was disapproved by the party chief. Efforts of Mr. Naidu to control the aggressive member proved futile. Nagam has been abstaining from all important meetings of the party called by Mr. Naidum and has chosen to stay away from the Politburo meeting once again.

There was a vertical split in the TDP on the Telangana issue. While those supporting Telangana have stalled the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly earlier, Seemandhra legislators of the party have on Wednesday stalled the proceedings demanding that the state be remained united.

Naidu has called the politburo meeting to sort out the differences, and knowing what would be the agenda of the meeting, Nagam chose to abstain from it as he is firm on his stand on Telangana. (NSS)
