Hyderabad: Four Telugu Desam Party MLAs, Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Mr Harishwar Reddy, Mr Jogu Ramanna and C. Venugopala Chary have announced their resignation to their posts today at a two-day Telangana Aikyata Deekha ( United struggle for Telangana) organized by the suspended MLA Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy at Indira Park here today.
Dr Janardhan Reddy said that they have resigned their posts as the people of Telangana have desired all political party leaders to quit, to achieve Separate State. He urged the Telangana leaders to come forward to fight for Separate State. He criticized the Seemandhra leaders who were demanding continuation of United Andhara Pradesh to loot the Telangana region. He said that history would be created on July 4 in Telangana agitation as the Congress MLAs and MPs would resign their posts for the cause of Telangana State. He demanded that the Telugu Desam MLAs and MPs also should resign their posts to fight for Separate State. He demanded the TDp President Mr Chandrababu Naidu to write a letter to the Union Home Minister Mr Chidanbaram in favour of Separate Telangana State.
Dr Janardhan Reddy said that Telangana would be achieved only with agitations and sacrifice of their posts. He said that they would organize Dharna in front of Speaker’s office, if the speaker failed to accept their resignations. He alleged that Separate State was stalled due to the resignation drama by Seemandhra leaders. He said that they would achieve separate state through resignations. He said that the Telugu desam party would lose its base in the region if the party continued double standards on Telangana issue. He said that they would fight till Separate State was achieved.
Acharya Konda Laxman Bapuji inaugurated the Deekha at Indira Park in the morning. He appealed to the all political party leaders to come forward to fight for the separate State. He demanded the Central government to introduce the Telangana Bill and pass it in the ensuing Parliament Session.
The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee chairman Prof Kodandaram appealed to all the party leaders from Telangana region to resign their posts to fight for separate state under the Joint action committee banner.
Congress MLCs Mr Yadava Reddy, Mr Amos, Bharatiya Janata Party Leaders Mr Bandaru Dattatreya, Dr Laxman, Telangana Praja Front Chairman, Mr Gaddar, co-chairman Mr Veda Kumar, TRS leader Mr Jitendar Reddy, CPI Deputy General Secretary Mr Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, CPI Floor Leader Mr Gunda Mallesh have expressed their solidarity to the Deeksha.
