Hyderabad: Alleging that mention of political management in the Justice Srikrishna Committee’s eighth chapter was nothing but violation of legislative members’ rights, the Telangana TDP Forum convener, Dr Nagam Janardhan Reddy, said that he would move a privilege motion against the Committee. He made it clear that the TTDPF would implead in the petition if the Centre filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding eighth chapter. He also pleaded with the High Court to complete the case at the earliest to protect democracy.
Speaking at the Assembly media point along with the fellow member, Mr Koppula Harishwar Reddy, after meeting the Deputy Speaker, Mr Nadendla Manohar, at the latter’s chamber on Monday, Dr Nagam said that the Deputy Speaker has assured to consider their request after examining the High Court’s stay. He said that he would submit the privilege motion after perusing the High Court bench’s order regarding it.
Dr Nagam alleged that the Justice Srikrishna Committee’s comments in the eighth chapter were nothing but belittling the political parties and their leaders. He said that it was too much to mention about how to control the Telangana movement and how to use the weaponry against the agitators.
Dr Nagam appealed to all political leaders of the Telangana region to introspect on suicides of youth and urged them to instill confidence in the youth that they would help carve out Telangana and stop suicides. “Otherwise, the leaders would remain as betrayers”, he warned. (NSS)
