Hyderabad: Suspended Telugu Desam party leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Wednesday warned TDP party president N Chandrababu Naidu of serious consequences if he obstructs the formation of Telangana state.
Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, Mr Janardhan Reddy alleged that Mr Naidu was leveling baseless allegations against him to divert the attention of the people of Telangana.
Condemning Mr Naidu’s allegation that his ‘Telanaga Nagara’ was being funded from Seemandhra leaders, Mr Janardhan Reddy said that the programme was in accordance of the wishes of the people.
“The Nagara is not supported by any Seemandhra leader,” Mr Janardhan Reddy categorically stated..
Mr Janardhan Reddy further stated that Mr Naidu has no moral right to talk about him as he had staged an ‘artificial agitation’ in connivance with Seemandhra leaders shortly after the famous December 9, 2009 statement on Telangana state by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.
He criticized Naidu for not discussing on Telangana in the Mahanadu and Medho Madanam Sadassus.
“The failure to discuss the burning issue at the Mahanadu or the Medho Madanam Sadassus demonstrate Mr Naidu’s commitment to the formation of Telangana,” Mr Janardhan Reddy pointed out.
He asked Telangana Congress leaders to return with concrete assurances from the Centre on the separate statehood demand. “Otherwise, the people of the region would boycott them and not allow them to visit Telangana districts,” the MLA warned.(INN)
