Hyderabad: The TDP senior leader, Dr Nagam Janardhana Reddy, has clarified that the ‘Telangana Nagara’ he has recently organized in his native Nagarkurnool was only for intensifying the struggle for Telangana and not against the Telugu Desam party.

Talking to the media after participating in the TDP Politburo meeting here on Thursday, Dr Nagam said that the Telangana Political JAC Convener, Prof. Kodandaram, was acting like an agent of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Expressing displeasure over the demand of Prof. Kodandaram that he should resign and participate in the Telangana movement, the former minister asked if the people could remain in TRS and participate in the Telangana movement, why he should not continue in the TDP. He said that Prof. Kodandaram should stop canvassing that TRS was the only champion of the Telangana cause.

Dr. Nagam said that he has decided to send the resolution passed by the TDP earlier on Telangana to the Union Home Minister, Mr P. Chidambaram. He said that he told the party chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, in the Politburo meeting that the party would have future only if it abides by the Telangana resolution. He said that he had also urged Mr Naidu to organize meetings all over Telangana and resolve people’s problems.
