Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday stated that the rampant corruption at all levels was hampering the development of our nation. He said he wants the country to progress in a corruption-free way.

Participating in a rally organized under the aegis of NTR Trust Bhavan in support of civil activist Anna Hazare at KBR Park, the TDP president said that the corruption has brought disrepute to the country. He called upon youth to play an active role in eradicating the corruption. He exhorted all sections of people to participate in on-going movement against corruption.

Stressing the importance of a strong Lokpal Bill to prevent corruption at higher levels, Naidu demanded that the government must include Prime Minister’s Office in the Lokpals’s purview. He said the present law drafted by Centre was toothless in dealing corruption at higher levels. He demanded the centre to convene an all-party meeting to elicit opinion on the new law.

Prominent persons from all walks of life participated in the rally and raised anti-corruption slogans expressing solidarity to Anna Hazare’s crusade against corruption. (INN)
