Naidu Demands Cong To Step Down If It Cannot Rule

New Delhi, Feb.9 (NSS): TDP chief Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu has demanded that the Congress should step down if it cannot rule the country.

Participating in the opposition dharna against corruption here on Wednesday, he said the Congress party had not fulfilled even a single promise it made to the people during the past seven years. He said after the UPA led Congress came to power, prices of all the essential commodities including that of onions used by the poor have increased. He said the government had totally failed in controlling the prices. He has also stated that the farmers were also badly neglected by the Congress government. He has maintained that food problem might arise in the country because of the negligence of the government towards agriculture.

Referring to the frequent increase in the prices of petroleum products, he said the common man’s life was made miserable because of the hike. He said if the government could not bring down the prices, it should step down.

Mr. Naidu has alleged that the government had buried itself deep in corruption. He has alleged that the government had turned a blind eye to corruption as the rulers were afraid of loosing their positions.

Former Prime Minister Mr. Deve Gouda, CPI secretary Mr. A B Bardan, CPI (M) leaders Mr. Prakash Karat, Mr. Sitaram Yechuri, Mr. Ajit Singh and other opposition leaders have participated in the dharna. (NSS)
