Hyderabad: The TDP chief Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed anguish and anger at the developments in his party’s Krishna district unit on Friday.
Mr. Naidu who is in Singapore has said in a statement here that it was improper on the part of party leaders to disclose the internal matters to the media. Stating that the TDP was known for its discipline, he has warned that violation by anyone however big, would not be tolerated. Stating that as the party president, he was sparing his time to party men to explain grievances. As such instead of bringing the problems to his notice, it was improper to have gone to the media, because of personal reasons. He said any attempt at bringing disrespect to the party would not be tolerated. He said that stern action would be taken against all those who go to the media on internal matters.
It may be mentioned here that serious differences have sprouted up between the district leaders of the party during Rajya Sabha member Mr. Nandamuri Hari Krishna’s visit to the district. Party MLA Mr. Nani and Vijayawada unit president Mr. Vallabhaneni Vamsi have charged Mr. Umamaheswara Rao of disrespecting Mr. Nandamuri Hari Krishna, by not involving him in some of the party programmes. The two have warned that they would not tolerate disrespect to any member of the Nandamuri family.
Pained by these allegations, Mr. Devineni Umamaheswara Rao has resigned as the district party president. Mr. Vallabhaneni Vamsi who has earlier resigned, has announced that he was withdrawing it, in view of Uma’s resignation.
Mr. Uma Maheswara Rao said that he was working with the inspiration given by the late N T Rama Rao, founder of the party and held the party chief Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Mr. Hari Krishna in high esteem. He said it was sad that he was charged of showing disrespect to the Nandamuri family. (NSS)
