Hyderabad: The TDP chief Mr N Chandrababu Naidu and his party MLAs this evening called on the Governor Mr ESLNarasimhan at Raj Bhavan and requested him to convene a special session of the Legislature to discuss the no-confidence notice given by them, as the Government has lost the confidence of the people.

Soon after the Assembly session was adjourned sine die by the Deputy Speaker Mr Bhatti Vikramarka, the TDP chief held consultations with his party leaders and went to the Governor and complained about what he was the ‘atrocious’ actions of the pro-tem Speaker and later the Deputy speaker, in not mentioning about the no-trust notice given by them one hour before commencement of the sitting.

Speaking to the media later, Mr Naidu bitterly complained that all democratic procedures were violated by the pro-tem Speaker Mr J C Diwakar Reddy and an attempt was made to declare Mr Nadendla Manohar elected as Speaker of the house in a unilateral way. Secret ballot was not conducted for the election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker, he complained. Mr Naidu said the TDP has been fighting against the anti-farmer and anti-people policies of the Congress since 30 years and the fight would continue.
