Hyderabad: The Assistant Chief Conservator of Forest Department, Dr H N Mishra on Friday underlined the need to create awareness among the people about the climate change which was a dangerous phenomenon.
Speaking at a seminar held on the occasion of World earth Day at Institute of Engineers, Khairathabad, Dr Mishra said that during 1900 and 2010, significant changes have taken place in climate resulting in increase of two centigrade temperature on an average. He pointed out the urgent need to minimize the emission of Carbon-dioxide to the atmosphere. The ecological balance would help to avoid natural disasters, he opined.
He also stressed the need to encourage environment friendly electronic gadgets. The environmental imbalance would have direct impact on the earth. The phenomenon of depletion of ozone layers was also harmful to the human beings living on the earth, he added. The protection of environment was every ones responsibility, he felt. (NSS)
