Hyderabad: The appointment of Mr. Botsa Satyanarayana as the PCC Chief appears to have done the magic. It has brought enthusiasm once again among the party cadres who were disinterested so far.

Though the Congress party has come to power in the state for two successive terms, the party workers got nothing in return excepting the Biriyani packets they probably were given during the election campaigns. The cadre have been disappointed by the leadership by totally ignoring them. Posts if any were shared among the leaders leaving the workers high and dry. Now once again the cadres were hoping that they would at least now get some recognition for their role in the party’s victory.

Gandhi Bhavan was brimming with enthusiasm when Botsa took over as the PCC Chief. There was all round enthusiasm. People like film director Mr. Dasari Narayana Rao who have been keeping away from politics since some time, came to the Gandhi Bhavan in one of his rarest of rare visits.

Excited by the new enthusiasm and with getting a young PCC Chief to work with, the Chief Minister Mr. N. Kirankumar Reddy wants to turn this enthusiasm into a fighting spirit and prepare the cadres for the elections. In a rare display of one ness, Congress leaders from different regions like Mr. Jaipal Reddy, Ms. Panabaka Lakshmi Mr. Pallam Raju, Mr. Nedurumilli Janardana Reddy, Mr. Rosaiah and many others who were from different regions shared the same dais during Satti Babu’s take over ceremony. Some of the senior most Congressmen surprised the party ranks by making it to the Gandhi Bhavan on the occasion.

Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy appears to be getting prepared to keep the party busy for the next six months. He would hold elections to Sarpanches, ZPTC and MPTC members within two months, say sources. Though other local body elections had to be postponed because of legal problems, the Chief Minister is determined to hold elections to Municipalities also, as there were no problems there. The Chief Minister wants to trounce the YSR Congress chief Mr. Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in these elections and gain good will with the Congress High Command as it is at its low ebb presently. The Chief Minister is reportedly roping in the Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Raja Narasimha and Ministers Mr. Mukhesh Goud and Mr. Danam Nagender to strengthen the party in the Telangana region.

Mr. Kirankumar Reddy is said to be determined to hold cooperative elections also at the earliest. He is stated to be of the view that by holding elections one after the other in quick succession, he could hold the enthusiasm among the cadres alive. This plan would also keep the opposition which has been day in and day lashing out at the government, busy in electioneering.
