Hyderabad: Handlooms and Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao on Wednesday denied reports that the Lokayukta has sent notices to him in response to the petition submitted by seeking a probe into allegations levelled against him and his family members.
Dr Shankar Rao’s denial came amidst reports that the Lokayukta had taken not of the two page letter written by him.
The Textiles Minister however said that if he receives any notices from the Lokayukta, he will file the reply ten days before the due date.
The reports had suggested that the Lokayukta had directed the Minister P Shankar Rao and his family members to submit their property details to Lokayukta within 6 weeks.
Though the Lokayukta has applied for more powers on the lines of Karnataka, the government kept the file in cold storage, Dr Shankar Rao said.
Dr Shankar Rao had stated that he had written to the Lokayukta for a probe as a section of political leaders were levelling corruption allegations against him and his family members.
