Hyderabad: The Mala Mahanadu president and MLC, Mr Jupudi Prabhakara Rao, has said that going back on a word given was not in the YSR clan.
Talking to the media here on Sunday, he said that late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy was known to sticking to his word despite any hurdles and his son Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy was also following the footsteps of his illustrious father.
Stating that Mr Jagan has said that his party would not field any candidates in the Council elections and called upon the voter to cast their votes as per their conscience, Mr Prabhakara Rao said the young leader would stick to that word.
He said that though Mr Jagan had crores of followers, he did not announce his candidates as he wanted to come into the election fray only after his party was launched. He has, however, said that all the supporters of Mr Jagan, who were contesting as Independents would have his support.
Mr Rao has dismissed the “adverse propaganda” by some interested parties about Mr Jagan becoming inactive, he said the former MP was now concentrating in establishing his party. (NSS)
