Hyderabad: Even as the City Police and government were licking their wounds suffered in connection with the Telangana JAC-sponsored Million March on Tank Bund the other day, another challenge stares them in the guise of ‘Chalo Assembly” called by the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi (MRPS) on March 14. In view of the previous bitter experience, the extra cautious police are flexing their muscles to prevent any unpleasant incidents like gatecrashing and violent incidents on that day.
The police have planned a strategy to frustrate any attempts of the MRPS activists to gatecrash into the Assembly premises. The police have also decided to make another lane on the road in front of the Assembly so that it could facilitate a special lane exclusively for legislators. The second lane was meant for general traffic. This facility would help the police to prevent MRPS activists to rush towards the Assembly on vehicles.
Though the MRPS has obtained permission to hold a dharna at Indira Park, the police suspect that the MRPS activists may also make attempts to barge into the Assembly. It may be recalled that last year, the MRPS activists managed to reach the top of the majestic Assembly building and created ruckus when the session was going on. (NSS)
