Hyderabad: Mr Metaparti Venkat, CEO of the NTR Memorial Trust, has invited people to participate as ‘NTR Volunteers’ to serve people in natural calamities like the vagaries of nature, accidents and destructions.
He stated that there was need for volunteers to come forward to serve the people in calamities such as blasts in Hyderabad, floods in Kurnool, the recent Lyla typhoon, epidemics like Swine Flu and other viral fevers apart from accidents. He stated that if volunteers came forward to supplement the services of the government on such occasions, people could be served better.
Mr Venkat has stated that those desirous of participating in service activities as ‘NTR Volunteers’ could apply to the NTR Memorial Trust, Road No. 2, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Applicants should affix their photographs and give details of their proficiencies in the application, he stated.
There would be training for the volunteers through experts from the State and national level. Representatives of NGOs, senior officials of the Revenue and Police departments and journalists would offer the training, he stated and added that an identity card would be issued to the candidates on completion of training as ‘NTR Volunteer.’ (NSS)
