Hyderabad, Feb.7 (NSS): With the merger of the Praja Rajyam Party with the Congress, one hurdle in formation of separate Telangana State was removed, observed the TRS President Mr K Chandrasekhara Rao, here on Monday.
Mr Rao made the comment in reply to questions of newsmen. It may be mentioned that the PRP was strongly opposed to bifurcation of the State. Following the decision to merge the party with the Congress, Mr Chiranjeevi, PRP President, has said that now they form part of the Congress and they would abide by the decision of the party High command in regard to Telangana state. Quite naturally, the TRS feels that following the merger, one more hurdle in bifurcation of the State was removed.
NO QUESTION OF TRS MERGER
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao has made it clear that there was no question of merging the TRS with the Congress. When a scribe referred to the reported statement of senior Congress leader Mr K Keshava Rao on the possibility of TRS merger with the ?Congress, the TRS chief shot back saying that Mr Keshava Rao was ‘day dreaming’. He commented that TRS is not a ‘cinema party’ to merge with the Congress. It is clear that he was referring to the PRP floated by Mega star Chiranjeevi, when he made this comment. (NSS)
