Hyderabad: Claiming that he was a witness to the unsavoury incidents at the Andhra Pradesh Bhavan on Thursday when Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA Harish Rao slapped Officer on Special Duty Chander Rao, senior Congress leader and former minister Paladagu Venkat Rao on Saturday said that the OSD was not to be blamed for the incident.
Describing the attack on the OSD as ‘unfortunate’, Mr Venkat Rao said that the official was only carrying out his duty and passing instructions to the staff regarding shifting the body of Yadireddy, who had committed suicide for sake of Telangana in New Delhi.
“I was witness to the incident and the events prior to it. I had seen the official passing instructions to the staff. He was only obeying orders,” Mr Venkat Rao stated.
The Congress leader was left speechless when pointed out by the media persons that a written letter did exist, written by the OSD regarding shifting the body to the airport for transporting it to Hyderabad.
Mr Venkat Rao also alleged that during the recent Telangana bandh, a farm was vandalised in Pochampally village, since its owner was opposing Telangana.
Condemning the incident, the former minister warned that if these types of incidents recur, the Centre would not sit quiet but take stern action.
When it was brought to his knowledge that a pregnant woman and two youth were beaten ruthlessly in Trupatamma temple in Krishna district on the grounds that their vehicle was bearing ‘Jai Telangana’ sticker, but he was only holding the destruction of the farm more important, Mr Venkat Rao said that he condemned this incident also.(INN)
