Hyderabad: To further put pressure on the state and Central governments, the Osmania University Students Joint Action Committee on Tuesday called upon all students across Telangana region to boycott classes on Wednesday.

Condemning the police action, the OUS JAC leader, who are staging a hunger fast at Arts College in Osmania University, called on all the students to boycott class on Wednesday and instead take out rallies.

The OU students have already launched an indefinite hunger strike, pressing for deletion of Clause 14 F from the Presidential Orders of 1975 and introduction of the Telangana Bill in Parliament.

The Students’ JAC leaders also called on the student community in the region to extend moral support to all the students who have launched hunger fasts in the various district headquarters and thus support the separate statehood agitation.

“We have appealed to all the students to voluntarily boycott classes and participate in the agitation. We have appealed to all the students across Telangana to make our agitation a grand success,” the JAC leaders said.

Meanwhile, Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday appealed to students who are staging hunger fasts in Osmania and Kakatiya Universities to call off their fasts immediately.

He said the separate statehood agitation has been launched for the bright future of students.

Advising the students to protect their health, KCR said the Telangana leaders would not withdraw their resignations until the Centre announces a separate Telangana state. The TRS chief said that instead of withdrawing their resignations, the Telangana leaders would instead intensify the agitation through various strategies.(INN)
