Hyderabad: Holding the Union Petroleum Minister, Mr S. Jaipal Reddy, who represents Chevella Lok Sabha constituency, responsible for the suicide of Mandadi Yadi Reddy of Peddamangalaram village under Moinabad mandal of Ranga Reddy district, the Osmania University students on Friday attempted to take out a rally with an effigy of the Union minister towards Tarnaka. They raised slogans demanding that Mr Jaipal Reddy tender resignation owning moral responsibility for the youth’s death. However, the police frustrated their attempts resulting in heated arguments between the students and the police personnel.

They asked as to why Mr Jaipal Reddy was not resigning even when the MPs and legislators of all political parties of the region submitted resignations for the cause of Telangana State. They described the Union minister as a traitor of Telangana.

The students squatted before the University police station protesting against the attitude of police.
