Hyderabad: The PCC appointed three-member Committee on the results of MLC elections from Local body constituencies, has said that it was extending the date of submission of complaints to the committee up to end of April.
Speaking to the media after the Committee’s first meeting held at Gandhi Bahvan on Friday, the Committee members Mr Mandali Budhha Prasad, Mr M Kodanda Reddy and Mr M Hanumantha Rao said that the Committee will convene another meeting on May 2 and it will submit its report by the end of May. Before that the Committee would examine the complaints received from DCC presidents and others, they said and added that the Committee also takes the feed back from the defeated candidates in the MLC elections, if needed. The Committee received some complaints from DCC presidents and Co-ordinators and the candidates who contested the MLC election from the Party.
They said that leaving ethics in politics has become a habit and hence the PCC has set up the committee to look into the issue. The Congress public representatives casting their vote to other Party candidates was nothing but back- stabbing the Party, they said and added that they only submit a report and whether to take action or not was up to PCC.
The PCC Chief Mr D Srinivas also participated in the Committee’s first meeting. (NSS)
