Hyderabad: As per the direction of the Andhra Pradesh State Human Rights Commission (APSHRC), the State government has constituted an “Expert Committee” to conduct thorough investigations scientifically in all the villages near the areas of damages due to blasting of OCP-II mine .
According to a GO issued on Thursday in this regard, the APSHRC directed the Collector of Karimnagar district to appoint “an Expert Committee” for detail study in depth and conduct investigations scientifically in all the villages nearby the areas of OCP-II mine and see whether the damages have occurred to the houses due to blasting at OCP-II and what steps should be taken to prevent the same and what relief they are entitled to. A compliance report shall be submitted by the district Collector to the APSHRC.
The government has set up the experts committee with Mr P. Rangnatheswar, Director of Mines Safety, DMS Region-I, Mr Dasari Chandrashekar, Assistant Professor in Mining Engineering, & Head, Dept. of Mining Engineering, University College of Engineering, M.E.Complex (PO); Kothagudem and Mr R. Ramesh Reddy, Professor, Dept. of Civil Engineering, University College of Engineering, Osmania University.
The Committee was requested to submit report within a month. (NSS)
