Hyderabad: The State Haj Committee has accomplished the task of obtaining passports for almost all the Haj pilgrims, who had applied for passports before submitting applications for the Haj 2011 and later on selected either in the Qurrah or under reserved categories.
The Regional Passport Office, Secunderabad prepared passports for 2,456 pilgrims and now just 26 applications are to be settled for whom Passport Adalat will be held on July 18 at the Regional Passport Office. These include a few pending legal cases.
The Haj Committee Chairman Janab Syed Khaleeluddin Ahmed, in a media release, stated that as many as 5,898 Passports out of 6,137 pilgrims have been received by the State Haj Committee which are being sent to the Haj Committee of India for Haj Visa endorsement. The State has already submitted 4,341 passports to the Central Haj Committee. He also stated that 213 passports are still with the pilgrims which include a few cancellations. However, the entire work relating to the passports is slated to be completed by July 20, he added.
