Hyderabad: Inaugurating Rythu Chaitanya Yatra in the MPDO office in Chevella mandal headquarters on Tuesday, the Ranga Reddy district Collector, Mr V Seshadri, made it clear that the Pavala Vaddi scheme would be applicable to those farmers who repaid crop loans regularly on time.
Addressing the farmers on the occasion, the Collector said that some farmers were willfully not repaying crop loans on the assumption that the government might announce loan waiver. He made it clear that those who paid loans regularly on time would be eligible for Pavala Vaddi only.
The Collector also directed the Agricultural officials to collect soil samples in their respective mandals and enlighten the farmers about sowing crops that would yield more. He also asked them to organise farmers’ meetings in every village and clear their doubts. He also asked the officials to prepare plans to what extent fertilizers and seed were needed. He advised the officials to identify the farmer who have not obtained crop loans so far and make arrangements to provide loans to them immediately.
The Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Mr Nagi Reddy, directed the Agricultural officials to conduct Rythu Chaitanya Yatras in the villages. He also spoke to the farmers and elicited their problems. Mr Nagi Reddy and Mr Seshadri went round the stalls put up by Agriculture and allied departments.
The Joint Director of Agriculture, Mr Tejavardhan Reddy, the Zilla Parishad CEO, Mr Ravinder Reddy, and others were present. (NSS)
