Hyderabad: The Union Home Minister Mr P Chidambaram’s comment that Telangana state could not be formed ‘over night’ came in for strident criticism from many congress leaders of the region. Dubbing the statement as unfortunate, the Telangana Congress senior leader Mr R Damodar Reddy has warned the Seemandhra leaders that the Seemandhra people who were living in Telangana region would face security problems, if they conspired to obstruct the separate State formation once again.
He made it clear that Telangana people have no patience any more to wait further if the Centre failed to announce a favorable statement on Telangana.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Wednesday, Mr Damodar Reddy has asked Mr Chidambaram as to how many days will become a single night for him. He said that the Telangana people were hurt at Mr Chidambaram’s statement. He said that the December 9, 2009 announcement was the result of agitation and discussions of many nights, and added that the Centre was not taking any decision on Justice Srikrishna Committee report though it was submitted 60 days ago. He stated that Mr Chidambaram made December 9, 2009 statement only after taking the opinion of the all the political parties from Andhra Pradesh.
Taking serious exception at the Rayalaseema Congress senior leader Mr JC Diwakar Reddy’s remarks, Mr Damodar Reddy said that the former was trying to repeat the December 10, 2009 conspiracy to obstruct the formation of separate State. He said that Mr Diwakar Reddy and Eluru MP Mr Kavuri Sambasiva Rao were hatching a conspiracy to obstruct the process of formation of Telangana State.
He warned that Mr Diwakar Reddy and Mr Sambasiva Rao have to own responsibility if anything unto word incidents takes place in future. He said that the Seemandhra people, who were living in Telangana region, would face security problems because of the conspiracies of leaders like Mr Diwakar Reddy, Mr Kavuri and others.
Finding fault with the meeting of Seemandhra leaders to be held on March 5 to discuss on Telangana issue, Mr Damodar Reddy said that such meetings were nothing but provocation of Telangana people. He opined that the meeting was aimed at hatching a conspiracy to obstruct the process of creation of Telangana State. (NSS)
