Hyderabad: The PCC has remarked that the YSR Congress Party Chief Mr YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Karnataka BJP leader Mr Gali Janardhan Reddy extending support to the Social activist Anna Hazare’s movement demanding ‘Jan Lok Pal’ Act, is like devils chanting the scriptures.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, the PCC official spokes persons Mr B Kamalakar Rao, Ms Pushpaleela and Ms Padmaja have asked the supporters of Anna Hazare , particularly the TDP Chief Mr N Chandrababu Naidu, to divulge their earnings before extending their support to his anti-corruption movement and demand for ‘Jana Lok Pal’ bill. They said that it was congress Government that has responded to Mr Anna Hazare’s demand for appointing a joint draft committee for the Lok Pal Bill, and issued the relevant notification.. Responding to a query on the Congress supporting the DMK in Tamilnadu, though its leader Mr Raja was involved in the 2G-Spectrum scam, they said that the Congress-led UPA government had only sent Mr Raja to jail and ordered CBI inquiries into many scams, and it has not tolerated any irregularities.
Refuting the allegations levelled by Mr Jagan against the Congress, the official spokes persons said that Mr Jagan has reached this level with the blessings of the Congress party. The party had allotted Kadapa Lok Sabha seat to Mr Jagan in 2009 elections even though he has no experience in politics, they said and added that it was not correct for Mr Jagan to say that the present Congress party was ‘Italy Congress’. They also asked Mr Jagan as to in which party he became the Lok Sabha member and in which party his late father YSR became the Chief Minister of the State. They also asked Mr Jagan to reveal his party’s manifesto before criticising the Congress party, and wondered whether criticising the Congress party was Mr Jagan’s agenda.
Finding fault with Ms Konda Surekha’s statement against AICC President Ms Sonia Gandhi, they said that people wouldn’t believe in Ms Surekha’s criticism.
When asked as to why the party was not initiating action against those indulging in anti-party activities, they said that the party was allowing them to make statements so that the people would know about the double standards of Mr Jagan. (NSS)
