Hyderabad: PCC General Secretary Mr Niranjan has taken the TDP chief Mr N Chandrababu Naidu to task for not clearly spelling his stand on the Telangana issue, but making vague and escapist statements.
In a prèss note here today, Mr Niranjan said that instead of saying that the TDP had already made it’s stand clear on Telangana issue, Mr Naidu should say yes or no, as the party’s actions after the December 9, 2009 statement by the Union Minister Mr P Chidambaram in favour of Telangana state, had created doubts among the people. He said that Mr Naidu had no guts to announce the party’s stand on the issue in the Mahanadu and getting a resolution adopted on the issue.
Referring to Mr Naidu’s declarations that he would stand behind the farmers and that he would fight for their welfare, the PCC leader questioned why Mr Naidu was not making similar announcement to the people of Telangana. He also asked whether it was not the duty of Mr Naidu to get the Telangana issue solved, being the Opposition leader.
Appreciating Mr Naidu’s admission that he had dethroned NTR from power at least now, he added that Mr Naidu did it not to save the party from some evil force, but only to get power. (NSS)
