PDSU protests from Aug. 4 against 14(F) clause

Hyderabad: The Progressive Democratic Students Union (PDSU) has given a call for protest programmes from August 4 to 10 demanding that the State government conduct written test for recruitment of police sub-inspects after removal of 14 (f) clause from the Presidential Order.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, the PDSU State president, Mr A. Ashok, and its general secretary, Mr J. L. Goutham Prasad, said the Union government remained calm even as the students in the Telangana region were demanding deletion of the controversial 14 (f) clause from the Presidential Order since last year.

As part of the six-day agitation programme, they said, thousands of students will storm district Collectorates on August 4 followed by funeral processions of Congress high command and immersion of effigies on August 6, rallies with thousands of students on August 8 and Rasta Roko on August 10.

The PDSU State vice-president, Mr B. Satya, the State leader, Mr Ramu, the Osmania University JCA president and secretary, Ms Kavita and Mr Azad, respectively were also present.
