Hyderabad: The national BJP senior leader, Mr M Venkaiah Naidu, has severely condemned the Congress-led UPA government’s attitude towards the Yoga guru Ramdev Baba.
Lashing out at the Centre for imposing a ban on entry of Ramdev Baba into the national capital, Mr Naidu said that a day would come that the people of the country would boycott the Congress for its dictatorial style of functioning. Mr Naidu took the government to task for ordering police to lob teargas on the Satyagraha camp where the people were participating in the Deeksha peacefully and democratically.
Pulling up the government for adopting hostile attitude towards Ramdev Baba who launched peaceful Deeksha without any political agenda, Mr Naidu said that it was the policy of the Congress to terrorise the people who opposed them. He bemoaned that the government, which was not able to implement capital punishment against Parliament attack case convict Afzal Guru, has chosen to suppress the people who were democratically agitating against rampant corruption and the government’s incompetence to flush out black money in the country.
