Hyderabad: A case was filed in a court here on the TRS chief Mr K. Chandrasekhara Rao, for making derogatory remarks against Andhra Brahmins.
Admitting the petition by one Govindarajula Srinivasa Rao, a local lawyer, the First Additional Judicial Magistrate’s court directed the Satyanarayanapuram police to file a case against the TRS leader.
It may be recalled that Mr KCR had commented that the Andhra Brahmins only maintain pomp and did not know Mantras well. He made these comments while performing Chandi Yagam recently. The lawyer has stated in this petition that these remarks had insulted the entire Andhra Brahmin community.
However, Mr KCR made it clear later that he did not mean to insult the Andhra Brahmins. (NSS)
