Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLAs who staged a dharna at the Mahatma Gandhi statue in the Assembly premises, demanding that the resignation of Mr. Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy be accepted, have withdrawn their agitation on Friday afternoon, following an assurance by the Deputy Speaker Mr. Nadendla Manohar.
They said the Deputy Speaker who was at Tenali promised to come back on Saturday evening and resolve the matter. They said on his assurance, they had temporarily suspended their stir.
The TRS MLAs made it clear that they would continue their agitation from April 3, if the Deputy Speaker failed to take a decision on Mr. Pocharam’s resignation to the MLA post.
Mr. Pocharam and other TRS MLAs have staged a dharna on Friday morning, demanding the Deputy Speaker to accept his resignation to the MLA post immediately. They have however withdrawn the stir after the reportedly received an assurance from Mr. Manohar over telephone. (NSS)
