Hyderabad: The Director General of Police Mr Aravinda Rao has made it clear on Thursday that there was no truth in the reports that said that the Police personnel were also participating in the non-cooperation movement launched by the Telangana employees demanding introduction of a Bill in the Parliament for formation of separate Telangana State.
The DGP sharply reacted to the claim made by the TRS legislator Mr K T Rama Rao that the police personnel of Medak district were participating in the non-cooperation movement and they should be congratulated for it. Mr Aravinda Rao condemned the contention of Mr Rama Rao, and said there was no truth in it.
Mr Rao said that the policemen were not resorting to non-cooperation anywhere in Telangana. He, however, added that only the staff in the office of the Superintendent of Police, Medak district, were participating in the non-cooperation stir. There was no revolt by the police anywhere, he added. (NSS)
