Politicians cold to new JAC for Telangana

Posted by on August 11, 2011 0 Comment

The veteran freedom fighter and Telangana protagonist, Mr Konda Laxman Bapuji’s efforts to forge another Joint Action Committee comprising all political parties have fallen through and it is now being alleged that he is being propped up by the TD to counter the Telangana Joint Action Committee.

Mr Bapuji’s plea to political parties to keep aside their “jhanda (flag) and agenda” in the fight for Telangana has been quietly rejected by all parties, especially the Telangana Rashtra Samiti. Thus with the Congress, TRS, BJP and Telugu Desam rebels ignoring his plea, he has been forced to focus on non-political parties.

Meanwhile, the rebel TD leader and MLA, Mr K. Harishwar Reddy, alleged that Mr Bapuji was being supported by the TD chief, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu.

“It is quite obvious who is sponsoring him with the new JAC idea. It is the TD headed by Mr Chandrababu Naidu. Recently a meeting was held at a hotel, which was sponsored by Telugu Desam and several TD leaders were there,” Mr Harishwar Reddy said.

Telangana TD Forum convener, Mr E. Dayakar Rao had approached Mr Laxman Bapuji to take an initiative in bringing all political parties and organisations fighting for a separate Telangana on one platform.

Mr Rao had met him and other prominent leaders like Mr Chukka Ramaiah, Mr Gaddar and others. Deccan Chronicle
