Hyderabad: A few days after assignment of additional Cabinet post, the IT Minister, Mr Ponnala Laxmaiah, on Saturday took charge as Minister for Endowments.
Amidst chants of Veda pundits, Mr Laxmaiah took charge as Endowments Minister at auspicious time 10.45 am in his chamber in the J-Block, Secretariat. The Veda pundits performed puja and blessed the minister.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Laxmaiah said that the principle of the State government was “Sarve jana sukhino bhavanthu” (wellness for all). Therefore, it was giving equal priority to development, welfare and employment. He politely declined to talk on departmental and political matters.
The Principal Secretary of Revenue (Endowments), Mr Ramanachary, the Endowment Commissioner, Mr J S V Prasad, and officials of Endowment department were present.
After his resignation by Mr Jupalli Krishna Rao as Endowment Minister, the post was allotted to Mr Ponnala Laxmaiah as additional responsibility by the Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy. With this, Mr Ponnala Laxmaiah took charge of additional duty of Endowment Minister.
Before taking the charge, Mr Laxmaiah met the Chief Minister at the Camp Office at Begumpet.
