Hyderabad: The Congress MP from Karimnagar, Mr Ponnam Prabhakar, has said that the ruling party MPs in the region would become villains in the history if they failed to achieve separate Telangana State.
Speaking to mediapersons at the Assembly media point on Monday, Mr Prabhakar said that they were confident of achieving their goal and the struggle for Telangana State would continue unabated. Appealing to the leaders not to create a fuss over second SRC, he said that they have no definite information that the Union government was planning to constitute SRC to solve the Telangana tangle. Even if it was constituted, we have power to get it cancelled, he added.
The Karimnagar MP said that the talk of second SRC was only a news report, but the party high command has no such intention. He also urged the leaders not to link Telangana issue with the resolution passed by the UPCC seeking second SRC on the division of that State.
Stating that they have already explained the situation about Telangana State to the AICC leader incharge of State party affairs, Mr Gulam Nabi Azad recently, he said they were awaiting party high command’s response on the over delayed issue. Exuding confidence that the party high priests would take a favourable decision on Telangana very soon, he said they were ready for any sacrifice if the party put the issue in cold storage. (NSS)
