Hyderabad: The President, Ms Prathibha K. Patil, the Vice-President, Dr Hamid Ansari, and the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, led the nation in mourning the passing away of the world-famous spiritual guru Bhagwan Sri Satya Sai Baba on Sunday.
The Prime Minister in his message stated that the Baba was a great spiritual leader, who spelt out the meaning for ethical and meaningful life. He was the very reflection of humanitarianism, the Prime Minister stated, adding that Bhagwan Baba devoted his entire life to the service of people by offering health services and education to the most needy.
ADVANI SHEDS TEARS
Tears rolled down from eyes of the BJP leader, Mr L K Advani, while he was talking to the media to give his message on the demise of Bhagwan Baba. He stated that while Rama Krishna Parama Hamsa, Swamy Vivekananda and Mahatma Gandhi stood out as ideal men in the modern times, Bhagwan Satya Sai Baba led the country in the spiritual world and was a different personality.
The AIADMK president, Ms J Jayalalithaa, has said that Baba’s death was a great loss to the world and recalled His great services for over five de cades. She said that by setting up educational institutions and hospitals, the Baba rendered yeoman’s services to the poor and the needy.
The DMK’s top leader and Deputy Chief Minister, Mr M K Stalin, will be arriving in Puttaparti to pay respects on behalf of the Tamil Nadu government.
The Karnataka Chief Minister, Mr Yeddyurappa, has said that Baba has sacrificed everything for the welfare of the mankind. He said that he would visit Puttaparti and pay his last respects.
MLA RAGHUNATHA REDDY FAINTS
The Puttaparti MLA, Mr Palle Raghunatha Reddy, wept inconsolably on hearing the sad news and fainted. He said that he could not imagine that the world be without the Baba.
Meanwhile, several neighboring States are running special buses to Puttaparti for the people to have last darshan of the man whom they venerated as God. (NSS)

Puttaparti: An ardent devotee of Bhagwan Sri Satya Sai Baba died of shock on hearing the news that He was no more.
According to the information, Narayanamma, a resident of the Jendamanu street of Puttaparti was an ardent devotee of the Baba. She suffered cardiac arrest on hearing the news of the demise of Baba. (NSS)
