Prohibitory Order Around High Court Till Jan. 16

 Hyderabad City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma today promulgated prohibitory order under Section 144 Cr.PC and under Sec.22 of Hyderabad City Police Act effective from 6 am on November 18 to 6 am on January 16 next year.

The city police chief has stated that the area known as High Court of Andhra Pradesh under the limits of Charminar Police Station together with its surrounding roads and areas including the following roads, are busy places due to functioning of the High Court, causing movements of litigants and Advocates to and from the premises of High Court.

The busy areas under ban order area: Northern side of the High Court Building — City College Junction toNayapul Road. On the Southern side of the High Court Building –Madina CircletoCity College Roadand its three bylanes leading to Ghansi Bazar and other three bylanes leading to Patel Market/Ricobgunj. Nayapul –Madina Circle–High Court Road. Pathargatti –Madina Circle–High Court Road.Muslim Jung Bridge CircletoHigh Court Road. Puranapul – PTO –City College X- Road–High Court Roadand Moosa Bowli – Mehandi –CityCollegecrossroad –High Court Road.

The city police chief has stated that reports have been received indicating that such conditions now exist that unrestricted holding of public meetings, processions/ demonstrations, etc. in the area is likely to cause obstruction, annoyance or injury to any person lawfully employed, or danger to human life, health or safety or disturbance of the public tranquility or a riot or an affray  and inconvenience in the smooth functioning of the High Court and disturbance to the litigants and Advocates. Hence it was considered necessary to take speedy measures in this behalf to prevent danger to human life, health or safety or for preventing a riot or any affray and disturbance of public tranquility.

Anurag Sharma prohibited holding of any public meeting; assembly of five or more persons; carrying of fire-arms, banners, placards, lathis, spears, swords, sticks, bricksbats and so on; shouting of slogans; making of speeches, etc.; processions and demonstrations; and picketing or dharnas in any public place within the area specified. As the order cannot be served practicably to each individual on all concerned, the order was passed ex-parte. Religious functions/rallies/public meeting, etc. in these areas can be held with prior written permission  from the Dy. Commissioner of Police, South Zone, Hyderabad well in advance and this order shall not apply to processions which have the requisite permission of the concerned Zonal Dy.Commissioner of Police/Divisional Asst.Commissioner of Police. Any person violating this order shall be liable for punishment under Section 188 of IPC and as per the provisions of Hyderabad City Police Act, 1348 Fasli, he added. (NSS)
