Hyderabad: The Chief Minister, Mr N. Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Sunday stressed the need to sensitize and create awareness in the people on environment that would ensure ecological balance. The Chief Minister flagged off the Green Rally at his Camp office on the occasion of World Environment Day.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Reddy said that there was a dire need to protect the environment in the era of industrialization and modernization. The environment- friendly equipment and technical gadgets would help fight the pollution menace. He also felt that good publicity should be given to environment protection programs.
The Chief Minister also released a calendar on role of “Forests and Environment” prepared by Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board. The calendars will be distributed to school students throughout the State. Some 1,500 persons participated in the rally.
