Hyderabad: Mr M A Irfan, who saved hundreds of lives by detecting the bomb planted in Mecca Masjid here in 2007, has observed that linking Islamic or Hindu terrorists to the Masjid blast was unreasonable.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Wednesday on the occasion of fourth anniversary of Macca Masjid blast, Mr Irfan said that terrorism has neither religion nor colour, but the goal of terrorists was only mindless violence and massacre. He urged the government to enact tougher laws to deal with terrorism and punish the guilty with iron hand. He also revealed that he has written to the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, in this regard.
Mr Irfan said that he was given “CID Gallantary Award” along with a cash prize of Rs One lakh on behalf of the Soni Entertainment Television for saving the lives of hundreds of Namazis in the mosque. (NSS)
