Hyderabad: Describing the statement of the Union Minister, Ms D. Purandeshwari, in favor of Second SRC as mischievous campaign, the AICC secretary and MLC, Mr Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, has said that Ms Purandeshwari was not a policy-maker to make such statements and demanded that the Centre set up a Second SRC only after creation of separate Telangana State.
Speaking at the Assembly media point here on Monday, Mr Ponguleti said that Ms Purandeshwari’s statement was her personal opinion and it cannot be linked creation of separate Telangana to the demand of Second SRC.
Dubbing the war of words between the two ministers of Mahbubnagar as unfortunate, Mr Ponguleti said that it was not proper for them to behave in that manner being in minister posts. He urged the State government to appoint a co-ordination committee with the vigilance, police and market vigilance to look into problems of farmers in the markets. He also demanded that the State government send the erring millers to jail. He said that it was good to the farmers if the government increased the minimum supporting price by Rs 200 more per quintal. (NSS)
