Hyderabad, Feb.20 (NSS): Managements of private colleges on Sunday demanded that the State government clear 50 per cent arrears of fee reimbursement by February 23.
The managements met at the Stanley Engineering College, here on Sunday to discuss over the State government’s offer to release Rs 1,000 crores towards the fee reimbursements and scholarships.
They said that the 30 per cent of fee reimbursement that the State government assured would not be sufficient, and demanded that it should clear at least 50 per cent of the total amount. Reminding the deadline of February 23, they also warned that they would go ahead with the decision to close all the colleges in the State from February 24.
The private managements were learnt to have decided to meet the Chief Minister, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy over the issue of fee reimbursement on February 21. Pointing to the hunger strike undertaken by the former Kadapa MP, Mr Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on the issue at the Indira park, the college managements have extended their support to him. (NSS)
