Hyderabad, Feb.3 (NSS): The Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, participated in the Rachabanda programme at Supriyenpet in West Godavari district on Thursday after meeting the officials and non-officials at Chintalapudi in the morning. He visited stalls and addressed a public meeting and distributed assets at Chintalapudi Junior College Grounds.
The Chief Minister later attended the Rachabanda programme in Madaka Village, Pedana Mandal, Krishna district and addressed a public meeting at Agricultural Market Committee Grounds, Pedana. The programme was held at 1,566 places throughout the State today —- the ninth day: Andhra–616 places, Rayalaseema 285 places, Telangana–665 places. There were reports of minor disruptions at few places in Telangana only. Many beneficiaries received assets and other benefits at different places in the State today. Already Rachabanda programme has covered 12,958 villages/gram panchayats — Andhra–5,238; Rayalaseema–2,492 and Telangana–5,228. There were minor disruptions in a total of 87 places in Telangana. In all till today the Rachabanda programme was held in 14,524 places all over the State.
The Chief Minister asked the officials to carefully and immediately process the applications and representations received from the people during the Rachabanda programme on a war footing and deliver the benefits to the eligible people. People in general enthusiastically participated in the Rachabanda programme held so far in various districts and expressed their views and brought to the notice of the authorities the problems they are facing in availing the benefits under various welfare schemes launched by the State Government.
Speaking about the Rachabanda programme, the Chief Minister said the programme is aimed to help the people who have no voice and strength particularly the poor. The objective of the Government is to take administration to the door-step of the people. He said the programme is expected to provide benefits to 1.25 crore people to the tune of Rs.2,500 crores.
