Hyderabad: The Minister for Housing Mr Kanna Laxminarayana on Tuesday announced that Racchhabanda programme would be held in the month of September. Ration cards and pensions for which applications have been received at the earlier Racchabanda will be distributed to the eligible beneficiaries at this programme.
The Chief Minister, Mr N Kiran Kumar Reddy, held a review meeting with the officials concerned on the applications received during last Racchabanda.
Speaking to the media after the review meeting, Mr Kanna Laxminarayana said that 24.40 lakh applications for ration cards, 5.23 lakh applications for pensions and 15 lakh applications for housing schemes have been found eligible in the verification. The Chief Minister has decided to extend benefits of Rajiv Aarogyasree to these 24.4 lakh new white ration card holders. All these would cause Rs.1,650 crore additional financial burden on the State exchequer, he added.
Regarding housing, 15 lakh houses would be taken up in three phases. For this year, 6 lakh houses would be taken up. The amount of pavalavaddi loans for first six months of 2010-11 would be distributed at mandal level programmes in September. The interest waiver of farmers would also be paid by end of August, he added. The amount of pavalavaddi for this six months was Rs 300 crores while the interest waiver amount was to the tune of Rs 250 crores.
The Minister claimed that 13.83 lakh Indiramma houses were under progress in various levels. A part from this, additional houses for Rachhabanda applicants would be taken up, he added.
He made it clear that there was no crunch of funds for housing scheme and no bills were pending.
