Hyderabad, February 4: Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has invited applications for Rajiv Gandhi National Quality Awards for the year 2010. The Awards are intended to generate interest and involvement of Indian Industry in quality programmes, drive our products and services to higher levels of quality and equip our industry to meet the challenges of domestic and international markets. These awards will be considered for results achieved by the organizations during April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010.
A press released of BIS stated today that there are five awards, one for ‘Best of All’, one each for large scale manufacturing, small scale manufacturing and one each for large scale service provider, small scale service sector organizations. In addition, there are commendation certificates for large and small scale organizations in various manufacturing and service sectors.
Financial incentives in the form of cash awards will also be given. Organizations winning Best of All award would get a cash award of Rs.500,000. Organizations winning the other awards would be given a cash award of Rs.100,000. Organizations receiving the commendation certificates would be given a cash award of Rs.50,000.
