Hyderabad: Declaring that he was neither aspiring for political power nor against any political party in the country, the well-known Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Tuesday appealed to all the Opposition parties to raise their voice against corruption and black money in the ensuing session of Parliament.

On arrival in the city, the Yoga guru called on the former chief minister and Telugu Desam party president, Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu, in the afternoon and closeted with him for some time. He reportedly sought Mr Naidu’s help in his fight against corruption.

Speaking to mediapersons later, Baba Ramdev claimed that over two lakh crores of rupees of black money was stashed in foreign countries. Asserting that he was an Indian first and then a spiritual leader, the Baba said he was waging an uncompromising crusade against the cancerous growth of corruption in the country. He demanded that the Union government take immediate steps to bring back the black money from the foreign countries.

The Yoga guru announced that he would be holding public meetings all over the country against corruption from next month. The Baba strongly felt that needed changes in democratic countries could be possible only through political parties. He said he called on the TDP president to seek his support in his fight against corruption in the country.

Responding to his appeal, Mr Chandrababu Naidu reportedly assured the Baba of his full support to the holy war against corruption.

Earlier, Baba Ramdev arrived in the city this morning from New Delhi. The Baba received a rousing welcome from his fans, admirers and activists at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad.
