Hyderabad: Rao Travels, a household name for domestic travel in India has made a mark for itself in India. It has achieved a milestone in its journey and has been recognised as the ‘Best Domestic Tour Operator’ by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, for the year 2009-10. Mr. P. Sudhakar Rao, Director, Rao Travels, received the award in New Delhi from the hands of Lok Sabha Speaker Mrs Meira Kumar in the presence of Minister of Tourism Mr Subodh Kant Sahai, Film star Priyanka Chopra and others recently.
Addressing the media in city today, Mr. Sudhakar Rao said that Rao Travels was started by a Telugu family. Unlike other tour operators, Rao Travels is a travel agent, fleet owner and tour operator. ‘We are delighted for having been selected for the coveted award’, he added.
“Rao Travels which started small as tour operator and travel agency in 1983, is today a well respected name in the country. It is a great honour bestowed on us and we rededicate ourselves for the best services to our customers. We organise hundreds of tours every year and handle forty lakh tourists per year”. Rao Travels is the pioneers in Package tours across the country. It is the name to reckon in domestic, inbound and pilgrimage tour packages such Kedarnath, Badrinath, Haridwar, Kulu Manali, Shimla and many more. The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India presents National Tourism Awards to various segments of the travel and tourism industry every year.
